Expectations for Helpiing Communities

All Helpiing Communities Must Exemplify The Following:

Be Helpful

Helpiing communities are formed for members to be helpful to each other. This means creating opportunities to align need to existing resource within a trusted group tied together by a common thread. Should a help request appear that you can or someone else you know can help with – offer help. That’s what community is all about.

Helpiing is designed to do two primary things: 1) help people help each other by making it easy to ask for and get help from other people; 2) Reward people for being engaged and helpful to others. Helpiing is NOT a sales solicitation platform. Public posts to a Helpiing community are expected to be requests for help to find something you want or need help finding. Examples can be looking for a specific person by name, a skill, interest, knowledge, a contact to an organization, a partner to do something with, etc. Any Member can be removed for making posts that solicit business or posts that promote themselves.

Take Your Profile Seriously

Helpiing profiles and Karma Scores were developed to mitigate the risk that comes with accepting help from others. A complete profile coupled with strong participation within the community will show other members you can be trusted.

Only Join Communities That You’re Already A Part Of

Helpiing is intended to build a trusted network of people that share a common location, interest, profession, experience, or bond. We want members to maintain an organic trust and have faith that when they ask for help, the members responding can deliver and the exchange makes sense for both parties.

Please Respond

A helpful community is a productive community. It’s amazing how many needs come up daily that other members within a community can help with. If you can provide help, please do so. It will most likely be a mutually beneficial exchange and not to mention, paying it forward results in good Karma.

Group Conduct Policies

All organizers and members should take ownership over their personal safety and should never put themselves or others in danger. We expect all community organizers and members to be mindful of local laws when engaging with their community. Where appropriate, community organizers should also set guidelines for their members to ensure they are participating safely.
